Last week, Derbyshire police and partner agencies launched a six-week knife amnesty across the county. Knives can be deposited in 13 secure bins as part of the amnesty and officers are visiting schools to talk to children about the dangers of carrying a knife – a crime which carries a maximum prison term of four years.
