Five generations all being alive and well is a rare feat for any family.
But for an Ilkeston group of relatives it is becoming the norm, after celebrating the landmark for a THIRD time since 1975.
To mark the occasion they have posed for photos for the Advertiser and also supplied us with original snaps of the previous occasions when five generations got together.
On the first five-generations celebration, Sylvia Goodwin, Wayne Clarke, Winifred Clarke, Anne Heaps and baby Paula Miller first featured in the newspaper in 1975.
Paula Miller then featured with her daughter Chelsea Morris, Beryl White, Doris Dunkley and Sandra Clarke in 1994.
Not only are there now five generations in Paula’s family once more, but the youngest in the clan, little Tegan, nine months, and Leo Bellaby, almost two, have two great great grandmothers.
Paula said: “They’ve both been saying I should ring the Advertiser since Leo was born, so when Tegan came along I thought it was about time I did.
“They are both so proud of their families and love the little ones.”
