People can have their say on how the area around Ilkeston’s new railway station should look.
Erewash Borough Council launches a document tomorrow (Friday August 15) that will act as a masterplan for the area around the railway station – called the ‘Gateway’ - and identifies key sites for economic development as well as outlining projects to improve access to the station from Ilkeston.
It includes a ranked priority list of key access projects across Ilkeston – including access from Station Road to a permanent taxi rank and cycle parking next to platform one.
Councillor Geoffrey Smith, said: “We will continue to work with all the key partners and look to tap into funding to achieve these aims.
“First, however, we need to know what local residents and businesses think. The new station offers exciting opportunities.”
