Steve Lomas’s letter in last week’s Advertiser made several valid points.

We have not seen wildlife such as pheasant, woodcock and partridge since the Derbyshire Wildlife Trust bought and managed the land in Shipley.

What we now have is cattle, sheep, a number of new buildings, fences, a very large and expensive-looking viewing platform and many more vehicles on the bridleways.

Evidence suggests a wealthy organisation interfering with land that had become naturalised and turning it into a ranch-type area.
