Taylor Wimpey sales executive, Maria Barker with pupils from Granby Junior School

Pupils at Granby Junior School on Heanor Road in Ilkeston have benefited from more than £250 worth of books in celebration of World Book Day.

Leading housebuilder, Taylor Wimpey who are currently building new homes at their Briars Chase development in Ilkeston gave away the books to the school library on March 6.

Linda Lilley, Headteacher at Granby Junior School, welcomed the donations from Taylor Wimpy.

She said: “These generous donations mean we can add to the choice of books on offer in our school library, which is fantastic news for our eager young readers.”

Mariana Knight, regional sales and marketing director for Taylor Wimpy said the company were committed to supporting the local communities surrounding their homes.

She added: “This is one example of how we help schools and communities.”
