Less people claiming out of work benefit

Business leaders have welcomed a fall in the number of people claiming out of work benefits in Derbyshire.

Official figures show the number of Jobseekers Allowance (JSA) claimants in the county dropped from 10,594 in March to 10,096 in April. But the Chamber of Commerce for Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire, said there were growing concerns about skills shortages, particularly in the manufacturing and engineering sectors.
