A plan to manage and preserve a historic conservation area in Sandicare has been approved.
Elected members of Erewash Borough Council agreed to adopt a revised management plan for the Sandiacre Lock conservation area at meeting held at Long Eaton Town Hall.
It comes following a public consultation which was carried out on the draft management plan. This saw a number of responses from members of the public and various groups, including Derby and Sandiacre Canal Trust, which did not agree with all aspects of the document. The scheme aims to assist with the preservation and enhancement of the conservation areas.
The draft management plan was prepared with guidance from English Heritage and the Heritage Lottery Fund.
It establishes a programme of work tasks that are intended to preserve elements that make a positive contribution to the character of the area.
