Erewash residents can find out more about the project to restore historic features of Victoria Park in Ilkeston and the drive to win more than £680,000 of Lottery funding.
An informal presentation to give an update on the plans will be the main talking point at the next Ilkeston and North Community Forum on Thursday January 16.
The event will be at Gladstone Lodge, Market Street, Ilkeston at 7pm when Erewash Borough Council’s Head of Green Space and Street Scene, Dave Bramwell, will give details of the work completed so far and talk about the plans to renovate and restore some of the key features of the park if the council is successful in its bid for support from the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF).
Cllr Carol Hart, Erewash Borough Council’s deputy leader and lead member for community engagement, said: “We know that many residents are extremely interested in our heritage project and we look forward to welcoming them to this presentation where we can update everyone on the project and the hard work put in to develop what we hope will be a successful bid for Lottery funding.
“We always aim to make our Forums welcoming and informative, so please come along.”
The council successfully gained ‘first round’ support from the HLF and was given £60,000 to develop the heritage plans further before submitting a bid for full funding.
