MP Pauline Latham praised a Duffield youth centre which has proved popular with more than 600 youngsters as “incredibly important” during an official visit this week.
The politician met with volunteers for a tour of Massive Drop-in youth centre sampling some of the activities the centre has to offer and turning her hand to decorating a biscuit.
Massive acts as a social hub on Friday evenings for 11 to 18 year-olds - providing activities such as Xbox, table football and paintballing, laser tag and art workshops in the holidays.
The MP for Mid Derbyshire, said: “I am pleased to have been invited to the centre, and greatly enjoyed the taking part in some of the activities they offer. Massive provides an incredibly important opportunity for local young people to socialise and unwind once a week.”
