A determined mum from Underwood conquered two mountains and raised more than £1,000 towards her son Theo’s life-changing operation.
On August 16, Melissa Hunt climbed her way to the top of Mount Snowdon, in Wales, before she tackled the nearby Y Lliwebd, also known as the ‘knife’s edge’.
The mother-of-three is on a mission to raise £50,000 for an operation to help her four-year-old son to walk, with funds currently standing at £33,000.
She said: “With low visibility and slippiness, it was more challenging than anticipated. Parts of it were terrifying!
”But it was a brilliant experience and I’d do it again,”
Theo Hunt, who was diagnosed with a form of cerebral palsy, spastic diplegia, at 18 months, was unable to have the surgery in February due to a lack of NHS funding.
He may be confined to a wheelchair without the operation.
