Part-time day and evening courses for adults will start at Derby College, Ilkeston, inSeptempter.
The short courses have been specially designed for adult learners wanting to upgrade their skills to help them progress onto university, return to the jobs market or gain promotion at work.
Adult courses at Ilkeston include GCSE maths and English, Access courses in social science and nursing and midwifery, fabrication and welding and hair and beauty.
Head of Ilkeston Campus Helen Jefferson said: “The multi-million pound investment in new facilities enables students to realise their full potential and gain the valuable work and life skills that are so vital in these demanding economic times. It provides the local community in Ilkeston and the surrounding area with the state-of-the-art facilities that they deserve.”
Enrolmen and guidance events will be held at the campus, at 2 Pimlico on Thursday August 28 between 9.30am-4.30pm and then on Friday August 29, 9.30am-3pm.
