New bobbies on the beat in Ilkeston will be taking over Twitter this month to keep residents up to date with local policing issues.
PC Ann-Marie Gregory has recently joined Cotmanhay and Shipley View Safer Neighbourhood Policing Team replacing PC Andy Kendal-Edwards and will be keeping in touch with the @ShipleyViewSNT followers.
PCSO Jennifer Salmon will also be tweeting for Kirk Hallam and Hallam Fields area @KirkHallamSNT with updates about where she is on her patrols and offering crime prevention advice.
PC Gregory said: “I have worked in Ilkeston for seven years now as a reactive officer but moving onto a neighbourhood policing team means people will be seeing more of me.
“I hope that by tweeting on the beat I can reach more people with regards to community relations, problem areas and neighbourhood priorities and they can get to know me as their new neighbourhood officer.”
Derbyshire Constabulary launched its own Twitter profile in 2009, using it to share information, news and appeals with the public.
