Excited pupils of the reception class at Dallimore Primary school are now looking forward to a day in Skegness thanks to a donation by a local business owner.
Gulbinder Sandu who owns and runs Nisa Extra convenience store with husband Kuldip Sandhu donated £250 to the school, this week so that 25 pupils of the class can attend the day trip in May.
“I was originally contacted by Mrs Henshaw who teaches the class, for raffle prizes for a fundraiser,” said Mrs Sandhu.
“We got talking about the school trip and how much it was going to cost and myself and my husband thought it’d be a great idea to help out.”
The trip is estimated to be costing a total of £750, however the £250 will go toward subsidising some of the cost for parents.
Reception teacher, Sue Henshaw and her pupils made a thank you card for the Sandhu family.
She said the £250 would make a difference to pupils who rarely get to go on trips.
