People in Ilkeston will be able to keep up-to-date on policing issues on their streets as a local officer takes to Twitter.
Pcso Matt Lewis, from Ilkeston Town Safer Neighbourhood Team, is the latest police officer to head to the social network.
He will be tweeting about a wide range of topics including crimes, witness appeals, photos of stolen or seized property, safety advice, road closures, events the team is holding and more.
Residents can find out what Pcso Lewis and the team are up to by logging on to Twitter and following @IlkestonTownSNT.
Pcso Lewis said: “Twitter is a great way for us to engage with our community in a new and convenient way. It’s proved essential for other Safer Neighbourhood teams in Derbyshire and helps us spread appeals and important information really quickly.”
