A spokesperson for Ormiston Academies Trust added: “These are fantastic results and a tribute to the hard work and ambition of OIEA’s sixth form students.

“We wish them every success for the future. The results also show the outstanding professionalism of our teaching staff.

“Because of a surplus of post-16 places in the area, and the deficit this has left us, the sixth form is closing, but the OIEA teaching team have continued to give their all for their students.”
