The high notes were hit as the crowds gathered for a musical ‘Picnic in the Park’ in Ilkeston filled with fun and games and a whole heap of entertainment.

The event, hosted by Musikuk, took place in Victoria Park, Ilkeston, throughout the day on Sunday August 17.

Musikuk is an Ilkeston-based music centre, who offer singing and piano lessons, workshops and a choir programme for the local community.

A variety of singers performed including Ellie Tatham, Sarah Witts, Richard Bonser and Madison Naylor.

Musikuk coordinator, Lachlan Forbes-Sutherland, said the weather didn’t ruin the fun.

“It rained on and off but the show went on,” he said.

“The highlight of the day was the amazing talent of all the Musikuk students.”

High notes were also hit when the Musikuk Ilkeston community adult choir gave an exciting performance in the afternoon.
