Staff at an Ilkeston beauty studio said they were “chuffed” as they snapped up the Tiser’s Salon of the Year award.

A plaque to honour the award was presented to the winners at Pam’s Beauty Studio, in East Street, Ilkeston, as voted by readers.

The salon, which has been open in its current location for 16 years, is run by a mother and daughter duo along with seven other staff.

Owner Pam Brown, 56, said she was overwhelmed to have won.

She said: “I’m thrilled - not for me but for my team who work so hard.”

The beauty studio has moved around Ilkeston, having now established itself in four different buildings around the town since 1986.

Pam’s daughter, 28-year-old Chelsea Etienne, said it was a big compliment.

“We know we’ve been up against some really great salons,” she said.

“It’s so nice clients have taken the time to vote for us.”
