New support is available for carers of people living with dementia in Ilkeston.
Alzheimer’s Society, through funding from Derbyshire County Council and the NHS, is now rolling out its highly successful Carer Information programme at Ilkeston Community Hospital.
The six week programme starts on Friday October 18 from 10.30am and 1pm.
Stephen Tomlinson, Alzheimer’s Society group facilitator said: “This is great news for people living in this area.
“With more than 13,000 people living with dementia in Derbyshire, it is vital that we provide support like this.
“After the tremendous feedback we’ve received from previous programmes of this type, we feel that these sessions are vital in providing both practical and emotional support.
“The big message we wish to express is that those affected by dementia are not alone.
“We believe that with the right support it is possible to live well with dementia.”
