A disabled driver has had his parking ticket quashed after his story featured in last week’s Advertiser.
Richard Wilson, of Cromwell Avenue, had been handed the fine after parking in a normal bay when the disabled spaces in the Pimlico car park were full.
The 68-year-old displayed his blue badge as normal but was shocked to discover the penalty charge notice slapped on his windscreen when he returned from shopping with his wife and father-in-law.
He contacted the ‘Tiser after he said he was ‘fobbed off’ by Erewash Borough Council.
This week he found out that the ticket was being cancelled.
He said: “I’d just like to say a big thank you to the Advertiser for their help and patience in getting this matter resolved.”
