Town firm to support local charity’s event

An Ilkeston based company have given their support to local charity Awareness for Autism.

Aquarius Home Improvements have signed up as the main sponsor of the organisations upcoming Derby Legends fundraising football match and post-match party.

The family run business specialising in kitchen, bathroom and bedroom design and based on Manners Industrial Estate decided to give their backing to the event after hearing of the work that the charity does.

Co-owner of the company, Jane Bosworth, said: “As a local family run business we have been following the success of local couple John and Lauri Daly since they set up their charity Awareness For Autism last year.

“It has been a pleasure to support this charity and we hope to continue to do so in the future.

“Raising awareness for autism is something that is very important to both of us and we are proud to be involved in what we believe to be an extremely worthy cause.”

The event which takes place on Monday May 26 will see Derby County legends including Benito Carbone, Rory Delay and Darren Moore amongst others play with and against members of the public at the iPro stadium.

Following the match there will be an evening event hosted by the charity at The Spot Derby, where some of the players will be in attendance for an evening of entertainment, great food and the opportunity to win some fantastic raffle prizes.

John Daly co-founder of the organisation said: “We are delighted that Aquarius Home Improvements have decided to sponsor our event.

“It is great help and will enable us to not only put on the best event possible but help us to continue to raise awareness of autism and improve people’s understanding of the condition.

“We are really looking forward to the match, which will be a great day out for all the family.”

Awareness for Autism are an Ilkeston based charity providing support to families living with autism, raising awareness and fund-raising for vital equipment.

Tickets for the football match are priced at £5 per ticket. Tickets for the evening event are £25 or a table of 10 for £225 to include, welcome drink, two course meal and entertainment.
