Teenagers in Ilkeston are celebrating dome great A level results.
The ‘Tiser headed to Kirk Hallam Community and Technology College as students picked their results up.
Though the exact pass rate for the college and its site at Ormiston Academy have not been released yet, the grades were thought to be on par with last year.
Simon Cumiskey, 18, will study medicine at the University of Leicester after achieving A’s in biology and chemistry and an A* in maths.
He said: “I’m very pleased, I didn’t think I would do that well. I want to study medicine because I have always liked science.”
Kay Kearton, head of sixth form, said: “I am thrilled. Some of out individual results are amazing.”
Other students that did well included Brenden Dennis, 28, who achieved B’s in art, design, media studies, and English. He will study graphic design at Nottingham Trent University.
