An historic ceremony will take place on Ilkeston Market Place next week to mark 100 years since the outbreak of World War One.
The Nottinghamshire Band of the Royal Engineers has agreed to perform at the ceremony on Tuesday April 29, starting at 6.50pm.
The event is set to be a moving spectacle for people of all ages and will see the 126 Squadron Air Training Corps Rifle Drill Team perform before the Beating Retreat takes place.
Mayor of Erewash, Cllr Val Clare, said: “We look forward to welcoming the Nottinghamshire Band of the Royal Engineers and to seeing this historic ceremony.
“It is a particularly poignant event for residents and military personnel alike as we also commemorate the centenary year of the First World War.”
The Lord Lieutenant for Derbyshire and the High Sheriff for Derbyshire will also be there.
