Long Eaton man dies in A52 smash

A man from Long Eaton has died and two people are seriously injured following a collision on the A52.

At midnight yesterday (Saturday, March 5), an Audi A6 collided with a Volkswagen Beetle near Risley, heading toward Nottingham.

The 56-year-old Audi driver, who is from Long Eaton, died at the scene. A 28-year-old man and 29-year-old woman, who were in the Beetle, suffered serious injuries, which are not thought to be life-threatening. They were taken to the Queen’s Medical Centre for treatment.

Police are investigating the circumstances around the collision and asks anyone with information, or anyone who saw the cars before the collision, call 101 quoting incident 1 of March 5.
