A man who was seen “acting suspiciously” has been arrested by the police and the matter is being investigated by the Broxtowe District Commander.

A Nottinghamshire Police spokesman said: “Following a report of a male acting suspiciously in Newtons Lane, Cossall, on Thursday 12 May, officers arrested a 35-year-old man on suspicion of offences under the Immigration Act and his case was dealt with by the UK Visas and Immigration Service.

“The circumstances and grounds for the arrest are being reviewed by the Broxtowe District Commander.

“The force is also continuing to investigate the actions of the male on that day.”

The Neighbourhood Policing Team is also working closely with the local community to provide reassurance and address any concerns they may have about this matter.
