TWO local runners raised thousands of pounds for charity by running the London marathon on Sunday.
Chris Kurylec, from Shipley View completed the 26.2 mile race in five hours and two minutes.
He said: “The marathon was really tough, a massive challenge.
“I had a brilliant day though, the crowds and other runners were amazing and really kept my spirits up.
“It was a bit too warm in London on which added to the difficulty.”
Chris, who works at Ikea, still has to collect his sponsorship but predicts he will have raised more than £1,500 for Save the Children.
Anna Gee of Long Eaton, Nottingham raised over £2,800 for Parkinson’s UK.
Anna completed the 26.2 mile challenge in five hours and 25 minutes.
