OFFICERS made a surprise visit to an Ilkeston pensioner after she told care home staff she wanted to be naughty and knock a policeman’s helmet off.
Marlene Hunt, 72, said to staff at the Cedars and Larches care home that there were some things she’d never done and wanted to as she gets older.
Staff called the police station and later that afternoon Sgt John Troup and Pc Simon Doar turned up and obliged.
Mrs Hunt said: “I was so shocked when I saw them, the carer asked what I’d been up to. They were lovely and it was great fun.”
Sgt Troup said: “It was nice to go and see Mrs Hunt and give her a bit of a surprise, she was a great sport and really enjoyed it.”
