The Mayor of Erewash put her best foot forward when she took part in the summer solstice Moonlight Walk in aid of Treetops Hospice.
Councillor Val Clare is supporting Treetops as her chosen charity during her civic year and completed the 10K course with her daughter Angela – raising more than £500 between them for the hospice.
The annual Moonlight Walk is the biggest fundraising event for Treetops Hospice and sees hundreds of women take part in the circular walk around Derby, including through the historic Cathedral Quarter.
Cllr Clare said: “I am delighted to be supporting Treetops during my civic year and so it was an easy decision for me to put on my walking shoes and tackle the 10K.”
The hundreds of walkers taking part on Friday are thought to have raised around £47,000 in total for the hospice.
