Mobile mast plan passed

PLANS for a 14.8m tall mobile phone mast in Sandiacre have been approved by councillors.

The mast, which will support three antenna, and a small equipment cabinet will be put up on land south east of the Interchange 25 Business Park, Bostocks Lane, Sandiacre.

Residents living near to the site and Sandiacre Parish Council had written to Erewash Borough Council opposing the plans on health and other grounds, but a report said: “The concerns raised by the objectors which relate to health and radiation are not considered to be grounds for refusal due to the proposed mast being in compliance with legislation.”

The application was made by telecom giants O2 and Vodafone.
