Ilkeston firefighters will join Fire Brigades Union members across the country and strike on Christmas Eve, New Year’s Eve and January 3 in an ongoing row over pensions.
The dispute is over Ministers’ plans to raise firefighters’ retirement age from 55 to 60 and increase their pension contributions.
Union members are also planning an overtime ban.
The action follows Saturday’s strike by FBU members - the sixth in recent weeks.
Fire crews will walk out for five hours from 7pm on December 24, for six hours from6.30pm on New Year’s Eve and again for another two hours from 6.30am on January 3.
Area Manager Gavin Tomlinson, spokesperson for DFRS, said: “Derbyshire Fire & Rescue Service will still be responding to 999 calls albeit at a reduced level. Once again we are asking members of the public to take extra care.”
