BROXTOWE MP Anna Soubry has vowed to fight UK Coal’s plan to mine land between Trowell and Cossall villages.
The Conservative MP said in her last newsletter that she is arranging public meetings after the Doncaster-based coal giant submitted an application for a 320-acre mine on land known as Shortwood Farm to Nottinghamshire County Council last month.
Residents have just weeks left if they want to make their views known about the application.
Ms Soubry said: “I will provide details of all meetings, who to write to and suggestions of what to say.
“I fear this is going to be a long tough fight.
“But we are all united on the subject and it is vital we continue to work together.”
