Museum’s 40s nostalgic knees-up

Wartime songs, vintage clothing, the heroes and heroines of the Home Front and some jitterbug swing will all be part of a 1940s knees-up at Erewash Museum on Saturday June 18.

The event will feature live performances of wartime melodies plus period vehicles, military displays and some classic 40s cookery.

The event takes place from 11am to 3pm with a remembrance ceremony with representatives from the Ilkeston and Long Eaton branches of the Royal British Legion.

Cllr Mike Wallis said: “This event will be a nostalgic day out and a real step back in time that will be fabulous entertainment for young and old alike.”
