A new Police Community Support Officer (PCSO) is hitting the streets in the Larklands and Gallows Inn areas of Ilkeston.

PCSO Sam Sanders joined Derbyshire police a year ago as a Special Constable and spent his service in Derby working alongside regular officers at Cotton Lane.

Whilst volunteering as a Special Constable in his spare time, Sam’s main occupation involved working as a customer service advisor at Severn Trent in Derby.

Sam’s new role as PCSO finds him working with Pc Simon Doar while on patrol.

He said: “I am looking forward to the challenge of my new role and getting to know the people in the community that I am now serving.

”Please contact Pc Doar or myself if you have any issues or concerns in relation to local policing in this area.”

Pc Doar is the latest Ilkeston cop to join Twitter. Follow him @LarklandsSNT.

Pc Andy Kendall-Edwards from the Cotmanhay and Shipley View team was the first and has been tweeting about crime and policing and now has more than 400 followers. Follow him @ShipleyViewSNT.
