SHOPMOBILITY stores in Ilkeston and Long Eaton will now act as pick-up points for recycling bags.
The green bags are available from both town halls during office hours but there are no collection points open on Saturdays.
Councillor Barbara Harrison, Erewash Borough Council’s lead member for environment, said: “The extra collection outlets are an excellent way of making sure that every resident of the borough has easy access to green recycling bags and we would like to thank the Shopmobility centres in both Ilkeston and Long Eaton for making this possible.
“It is important that we all recycle as much as we can in an effort to reduce the amount of waste the council sends to ever-decreasing landfill sites. There is a charge for every tonne of waste that goes to landfill, so recycling helps to keep overall costs down.”
