ILKESTON strongman, John Evans, marked his 65th birthday by doing what he does best and balancing things on his head.

The record holder this time opted to balance eggs, flour, potatoes and pwt food on his head to raise cash for charity.

Earlier this week John’s eggcellent stunt made it into the record books as the Record Holders’ Republic authorised his effort as a new world record.

While most are looking to retire at 65 John told the Advertiser he won’t be stopping his head balancing act yet.

He said: “I’ll still carry on fundraising but after this summer I won’t be balancing the car on my head anymore.

“I’m 65 now so I suppose I ought to slow down a bit.”
