NHS says get the jab

THE NHS has called for vulnerable people, including over-65s, to get the flu jab as another bad winter is predicted.

Last year there were 600 deaths from flu.

‘At risk’ groups also include pregnant women, people with heart disease, breathing problems, diabetes or other long-term illnesses.

Acting director of public health for NHS Derbyshire Dr Bruce Laurence said: “There may be lots of flu around again this year as there was last year, which means we all need to be prepared and forearm ourselves.”
