SHIPLEY View Residents’ Association is celebrating after having a public advertising board installed.

The notice board, which stands opposite the Co-op on Summerfields Way, was funded by Derbyshire County Council and built by pupils at Bennerley Business and Enterprise College.

Chairman of the residents’ association, Ron Sweetland said: “I was overjoyed to be contacted by Erewash Borough Council to be told that the board installation would be complete on February 1.

“I contacted members of the association by telephone to inform them that installation of the long awaited notice board was only days away and all residents of the estate would now be able to enjoy the free facility.

“The news is another good success story for the Shipley View Residents’ Association.
