AN 85-YEAR-OLD woman died from bleeding on the brain after a fall at the West Hallam care home where she lived, an inquest has heard.
Alice Robinson, originally of Belper, fell twice at Beechcroft Care Home in Nursery Avenue on June 10, 2009.
She was checked over but was found to have sustained no injuries. Later that day she became less mobile and was submitted to hospital for a CT scan.
The results of it were not passed to the doctor treating Mrs Robinson until three hours later. Only then was the bleed found. It killed her less than eight hours later.
Derby coroner Dr Robert Hunter recorded a verdict of accidental death. He said she may have suffered the bleed up to two weeks earlier.
