An Ilkeston optician has handed a big boost to a local family music festival with a donation of £5,200 towards this month’s event.
Specsavers stores in Ilkeston and Long Eaton have joined with colleagues in Beeston and Eastwood to sponsor the 15th annual Hemlock Happening at Bramcote Hills on Saturday, June 10, 1-10pm.
Company representatives met with organisers from the Bramcote and Stapleford Golden Jubilee Group and Liberty Leisure Ltd to present the cheque.
Store director Krishna Parmar said: “We are proud to be able to support the Hemlock Happening event this year.
“We feel it is important that we can support local initiatives that make a positive contribution within the local community and beyond.”
The deal will allow the festival to include a big top tent hosting the main stage and bar, so that festival-goers can enjoy the day in any weather.
Visitors can expect a fun packed day of live music, an arena showcasing school performances, sports, arts and crafts, , workshops, fairground rides and food and drink stalls - before it all wraps up with a firework finale.
Other sponsors include Bramcote Hills Community Association, Central England Co-operative, The Haven Centre, Nottinghamshire County Council and Inspire.
