OVER 100 students from Kimberley Comprehensive School are taking part in a safety day with local firefighters.
Held at Beeston Fire Station next week, the kids will learn about water safety, health, drugs and alcohol, nutrition, awareness of domestic violence, internet safety and crime.
The event has been organised by Michelle Fitzpatrick, the Community Safety Advocate for Broxtowe, with the support of firefighters from Eastwood, Beeston and Stapleford.
“This is a great opportunity for young people within our district to learn about important safety messages in a fun and practical way,” said Michelle Fitzpatrick.
Any other schools interested in taking part should call Michelle Fitzpatrick on 0115 957 5277.
