Police hunt for second damaged vehicle after Kirk Hallam crash leaves elderly woman injured

Police believe a second vehicle may have been involved in a crash in Kirk Hallam which left an elderly woman injured.

Ilkeston firefighters, police, paramedics and the air amublance were called to the scene in Ladywood Road just after 10am on Sunday to find a vehicle on its roof and the woman trapped inside.

They cut her from the wreckage and she was taken to hospital.

A Derbyshire police spokesman said it is understood the woman was released from hospital on Sunday afternoon.

The spokesman said: “We believe another vehicle may have been involved in this collision.

“We’re urging anyone who has seen a recently-damaged vehicle, witnesses or anyone with information about the incident to contact us on 101.”

Commenting on our Facebook page, eyewitness Gillian Marissa Law said: “It looked horrendous.

“I’m glad the lady is OK.”
