PUB-GOERS have helped to raise £1,500 for a cancer charity at an event earlier this month.
There were sponsored events on offer at the Erewash Hotel in the centre of Ilkeston to raise the cash for Macmillan Cancer Support, which helps people diagnosed with the illness.
Brave Mick Wheatley, Kevan Mihaly, Conan Wheatley, Trog Riley and Richard Whitehead stepped forward for challenges including a boiled egg eating task, head shaving and having their backs and legs waxed.
Helen Buck organised the event in memory of her partner’s brother who died from cancer in December.
She said: “It was a great turnout and I’m really pleased with the money raised.”
