Children at two Ilkeston schools have bid a fond farewell to teachers who retired at the end of the term.

Staff and students of Granby Junior School held a leaving presentation for two long serving teachers Ian Bond and Ann Hill. Ann has been teaching at the school for 40 years and Ian Bond had been teaching for 36 years

Meanwhile, Elizabeth Law retired from St Thomas School in Church View after more than 40 years as the deputy headteacher. She started working at the school in September 1972. Headteacher Michael Geraghty also retired.

Liz Law is wished a happy retirement from pupils at the St Thomas School in Ilkeston after a special assembley which celebrated her 44 years service.  Also retiring is their head teacher Michael Geraghty who leaves after 25 years and is pictured with the children who presented gifts at the assemble on Tuesday.
