A LABOUR councillor has only attended one meeting since she was elected to the borough council in May, according to the Conservatives.
Cllr Darren Adams-Shaw is due to ask a question at the full council meeting tonight (Thursday) about Stanley councillor Linda McGraw’s lack of appearances.
He is also set to question why a further nine members of Erewash’s Labour group have attended three meetings or less in the same period, while being paid allowances out of taxpayer’s money.
“Can I ask the leader of the council if he knows if these ten councillors are collecting their full allowances paid for by the council taxpayer, which comes to some £2,000 each?”
Labour councillors refused to attend scrutiny meetings after the Tories cut the number of committees from three to one to save £15,000 earlier this year.
