This stunning photo of the Nutbrook Trail is one of the latest entries into our Life Thru the Lens competition.

The ‘Tiser is running the competition with Specsavers in Bath Street.

Christopher Smith, 44, of Spencer Street, Stanley Common, shows off some top photography skills with this picture.

He took the picture at the Nutbrook Trail just south of Straws Bridge in December last year.

This is the second time we have run the contest and the winners will be chosen by a panel of judges.

The opticians is offering a top digital camera, worth hundreds of pounds, as the top prize. The subject you choose is up to you but it must have a clear link to Ilkeston.

It could be an image that captures our industrial past, a shot of an eye-catching green space, local wildlife or even a local sporting occasion.

The next step is to email or post your entry to us with certain details.

We will also showcase some of your entries each week in the paper and online.

Once we close the entries a team of judges will sift through all the brilliant photographs and narrow them down to ten finalists before deciding on the winner. There will then be a presentation night at the Specsavers store where all the finalists’ images will be exhibited.

Email your entries to news@ilkestonadvertiser.co.uk or post them to Specsavers Life Thru The Lens, Ilkeston Advertiser, 8 Heanor Road, Ilkeston, DE7 8ER.

No computer-manipulated images accepted. Entries are copyright of the Advertiser.
