BUS ROUTES in Erewash are under review after the county council launched a public consultation.
The questionnaires ask passengers and members of the public where savings could be made.
A summary of the consultation on Derbyshire County Council says: “Derbyshire County Council needs to save money from its public transport budgets.
“We currently pay for around 15 per cent of all bus services in Derbyshire, subsidising routes where passenger numbers aren’t high enough for operators to run them on their own. We also support community transport, school transport and help out with some fares for younger, older and disabled people.
“We will have to make some difficult decisions about the services that we want to protect and the areas where we may be able to make savings.
“We would like to know which services people think are the most important.”
An evening bus from Heanor to Derby which travels through Ilkeston and the Sandiacre to Long Eaton route are both part of the service review.
To complete a questionnaire go to www.derbyshire.gov.uk before Tuesday, January 31.
