ROADS in and around Ilkeston’s town centre will be close as rides and attractions start to arrive for Ilkeston’s 759th annual Charter Fair.
Closures will be in place from 5am on Tuesday October 18 until midday on Sunday October 23.
South Street from Derby Road, Queen Street from Albert Street, Wharncliffe Road from Albert Street and Bath Street from Wilmot Street are the affected routes.
Residents’ parking schemes will also be temporarily suspended from Monday October 17 to Saturday October 22.
Rides, stalls and attractions will be open from Wednesday October 19 until Saturday October 22.
And bin collections on town centre streets including Wharncliffe Road, Market Street, East Street, Burr Lane, Gladstone Street and South Street, will be moved to this Monday.
Mayor of Erewash, Councillor Kevin Miller, will ‘officially open the historic fair on Thursday October 20 at 12noon outside the Town Hall.
