Robbers raid Kirk Hallam petrol station

A SHOP assistant has been injured after a robbery at a Kirk Hallam petrol station.

Two men, with hoods up and scarves covering their faces, went into the Texaco service station, on Ladywood Road, Kirk Hallam on Sunday at 7.45pm.

They pushed a staff member out of the way and stole cash from the till.

One of the men was carrying a knife but did not threaten anyone with it.

The staff member received a minor injury to one of her shins.

The pair, both over six ft tall and wearing dark clothing, ran off towards the Oliver Road area after a customer activated a fire alarm to deter them.

Police would like to trace the man and any other witnesses.

Anyone with information should call Derbyshire police 0345 1233333.
