Rock out at local library open day

THE NORMAL sound of silence at Ilkeston library will be shattered when teenagers move in for computer games and guitars at an event for young people next week.

The Big Night Out scheme run by Derbyshire County Council will see the library open to ‘b_line’ cardholders.

On Tuesday, February 22 between 4pm and 7pm teenagers are being invited to rock out with Wii Rock Band and Guitar Hero on the big screen and learn to play a real guitar.

Derbyshire County Council leader and cabinet member for culture, Cllr Andrew Lewer said: “There is a lot on offer for young people in the county’s libraries and we want them to make the most of it, meet other like-minded people and enjoy their free time.

“Using a b_line card in the library is surprisingly easy and has lots of advantages.”
