An Ilkeston property maintenance firm is celebrating after securing a sought-after accreditation for excellence in health and safety.
Alpha Partnership, based on the Merlin Way Industrial Estate, has been applauded by the Safecontractor scheme for what it says are ‘very high standards’ in keeping its workers safe.
Alpha’s business development manager, Ian Brough, said: “The safe contractor accreditation demonstrates our commitment to health and safety and offers assurance to our employees and customers.
“This positive step will lead to many more opportunities for Alpha Partnership.”
The firm employs 14 people and turns over £650,000 a year.
It maintains homes, businesses and other buildings across the Midlands for major players including Erewash Borough Council and the G Purchase Group.
It is hoped that winning accreditation from Safecontractor will enhance the company’s ability to attract new contracts and its commitment to safety will be viewed positively by insurers when the firm’s policy is up for renewal, explained Mr Brough.
John Kinge, technical director of Safecontractor, said, “Major organisations simply cannot afford to run the risk of employing contractors who are not able to prove that they have sound health and safety policies in place.
“More companies need to understand the importance of adopting good risk management in the way that Alpha Partnership has done. The firm’s high standard has set an example which hopefully will be followed by other companies within the sector.”
