One hundred people in Erewash have been helped off benefits and are now running their own business, under the Government’s New Enterprise Allowance scheme, according to figures released this week.

Prospective Tory MP Maggie Throup said: “Setting up your own business is by no means an easy thing to do, and so we are lucky to have an organisation like the Erewash Partnership who offer advice and support to local businesses, as well as proving a strong support network.

“As part of my commitment to securing Erewash’s future, I want to work with the Partnership and other partner organisations, to ensure that we continue to support people to set up and run their own businesses, and foster the great entrepreneurial spirit that exist here in Erewash.”

The allowance has helped more than 46,000 people across the country.
